Can't believe it. All these years we assumed the LABC exemplary buildings awards to be based on who pays the most to be at the, very expensive, awards ceremony, call us cynic's if you wish. We refused to be sucked in, despite having TWO projects put forward, refused to pay anything, and we won the West of England design award for the best extension or refurbishment. See this link -

The nice thing is, the award is presented by the Local Authority Building Control, and covers not just design, but excellence in detailing and construction. We are now converts!! Already we have one property put forward for 2019, maybe this time we will go to the party.
